How to read the release

  1. Every public record requires a brand, product name and directly inspectable product-record URL; generic brand homepages are quarantined.
  2. Only records with directly inspectable provenance and a usable record-level source URL are published; unresolved provenance is withheld for review.
  3. Kong Strong records without a source URL are quarantined.
  4. Deterministic product-identity rules quarantine records explicitly identified as concentrates, syrups, powdered mixes, sports, hydration, protein, amino-acid, solid, gel, coffee, malt, vitamin-water or other non-energy-drink categories.
  5. Unit-bearing or non-numeric values are not accepted in numeric fields. Documented plausibility ranges are enforced before release.
  6. Potential per-container values entered into per-100-ml fields are quarantined for source-level manual verification: caffeine above 100 mg/100 ml, sugar above 20 g/100 ml or energy above 100 kcal/100 ml.
  7. Caffeine and sugar totals are checked against package size and the corresponding per-100-ml value with a five-percent or one-unit tolerance; mismatches are quarantined rather than auto-corrected.
  8. Sugar and energy values are cross-checked: a stated energy value materially below the minimum implied by stated sugar is withheld for label-level review.
  9. Where a manufacturer or label demonstrates that a captured caffeine or energy figure uses the wrong serving or unit basis, the record is withheld rather than silently corrected.
  10. Zero caffeine values for conventionally caffeinated Celsius, Kong Strong, Monster and Red Bull identities are quarantined for source-level manual verification.
  11. Record_ID is a deterministic SHA-256-derived identifier based on product identity, market and size; changing a citation URL does not change the record path. Record_Path is the permanent site path for that identifier.
  12. HTML entities are decoded recursively for public display. Existing identifiers are preserved from the archived pre-decoding identity tuple so presentation normalisation does not break stable record URLs.
  13. The jurisdiction-neutral Authority_Assessments field replaces the former country-specific assessment column.
  14. Blank values are null in JSON and empty in CSV. Explicit numeric qualifiers such as '< 0.5' remain text.
  15. All public records in this release originate from Open Food Facts, a contributor-maintained aggregation; inclusion is not independent verification.
  16. Product formulations and availability can change; users should verify the current local label and linked source.

A blank value means that the cited source did not provide a usable value. It does not mean zero or absence.

Documented factories

Energy drink factories

The directory includes physical factories only when public evidence connects the facility with an energy drink brand or product made by the site operator.

Contract-only, private-label-only, co-packing and generic filling-service sites are excluded globally. The directory is evidence-led rather than exhaustive.

Inclusion standardHow factory records are selectedShow detailsHide details
01

A record must identify a physical production site, not only a company headquarters, warehouse or distributor.

02

A brand-owned site is eligible when at least one public source directly connects that physical facility with energy-drink production; a named product or brand is recorded when the source provides one but is not required for this category.

03

A mixed-model site is eligible only when public evidence connects the physical facility with at least one named energy-drink brand or product made by the operator.

04

Contract-only, private-label-only, co-packing and generic bottling or filling-service sites are excluded even when they advertise energy-drink capability.

05

Network-level and company-level links are excluded unless a source identifies the individual production site.

06

Capacity figures are recorded only with their stated scope and year; they are not treated as energy-drink-only capacity unless the source says so.

07

Only records with directly inspectable provenance and a usable site-level source are published; unresolved provenance is withheld for review.

08

The directory is evidence-led and non-exhaustive because no authoritative worldwide register of energy-drink factories exists.
